WestBridge Capital infuses 10 mn USD in Mauj Telecom
Mumbai, Feb 23: People group of companies' mobile entertainment firm Mauj Telecom has received infusion of USD 10 million capital from WestBridge Capital Partners, Intel Capital and Sequoia Capital.
The investment will enable Mauj Telecom for further development of its activities in mobile gaming, music and messaging on all leading platforms including J2ME, smartphone, symbian and I-mode.
Mauj Telecom, a leading wireless solutions provider, is partnered with the leading wireless operators and portals in the world.
WestBridge Capital Partners led the investment round. Intel Capital, Intel Corporation's venture investment programme, focuses on making minority equity investments to grow the Internet economy in support of Intel's strategic interests.
Sequoia Capital is the world's leading venture investor specially in new economy businesses and has previously invested in companies such as Google, Yahoo and Cisco.
People group CMD Anupam Mittal said that the capital will be used to grow the business organically and through acquisitions.
Mauj Telecom CEO Arun Gupta said that the company would use the capital to expand aggressively globally in the areas of mobile music and mobile gaming.
