Vote on Account on March nine

Kolkata, Feb 23 (UNI) The vote on Account for the first four months of the next financial year (2006-07) in West Bengal will be placed in the state assembly by Finance minister Asim Dasgupta on March nine.

State Parliamentary Affairs minister Probodh Sinha told newsmen here today that after a gap of nearly two weeks, the budget session of the state assembly would also resume the same day.

He said as the coming assembly elections would be held before June, only a Vote On Account for the first four months of the next fiscal would be placed in the House instead of a full fledged budget for the whole financial year of 2006-07.

Besides holding a detailed discussion on the VOA, the House during its month long second session would take up a number of important bills for discussion, Mr Sinha said.

The first phase of the Budget session of the state Assembly, which began on February two with the customary address of the Governor, continued till February 21.
