Vintage Car Fiesta from tomorrow

Mumbai, Feb 24 (UNI) The Vintage and Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI) will be organising the annual VCCCI Vintage Car and Motorcycle Fiesta here two-day beginning tomorrow.

As this prestigious event's popularity increases with every passing year, entries have poured in from all over the country for this year's edition too, that will include rare cars from 1900 to 2006.

The Fiesta is open to cars and motorcycles manufactured between 1940 and 1980, along with some rare cars till 2006, which fall into the Modern Classics category, VCCCI President Nitin Dossa told a press conference yesterday.

''The actual route of the rally, covering 33 Km compared to last year's 42 km, will remain undisclosed till one minute before flag-off but enthusiasts can see the cars as they wind their way from Kala Ghoda to Juhu and back,'' he added.

This year's rally will include some exceptional cars that have not been seen in any Indian rally till date.

Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy will be the first to be flagged off in a Crysler Convertible 1952-8 cylinder owned by Dossa.

Another feature is that the event will be observed by FIVA, the world body of vintage car officials. This will be FIVA's first visit to India.
