Mahoba, Feb 23 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today sealed its border with Madhya Pradesh to prevent the ingress of chicken infested with Avian Influenza.
Police officials here said that the supply of chicken and eggs from MP have have been stopped in Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect.
This has been done to check the possibility of infected chicken and eggs from entering UP, they added.
As MP is bordered by Maharashtra, which had reported cases of Bird Flu, there are chances that the infected birds might sneak into UP.
Strict vehicle checks have been ordered on the state border with MP in this connection.
A red alert has been sounded in the entire of this Bundelkhand district, and special drive undertaken to examine various poultry farms and meat shops in the district, police added.
