Two women from a family killed, three injured

Pratapgarh, Feb 23 (UNI) Armed criminals shot dead two women from a single family, besides injuring three of their kin in the Kandhai area here.

Police said here today that Baby (29) and Durgawati (24) were shot dead by armed assailants, who also injured three other family members including Anita (22), Rampal (70) and Rajesh (25) in the Patawa village last night.

One of the deceased Baby was an eye witness to her husband's murder in 2002 and had to testify in the same case before a local court on February 28, police added.

The injured have been admitted to the district hospital and a manhunt launched to nab the killers.
