Two ultras shot, camp busted

Imphal, Feb 24 (UNI) Two suspected militants were shot dead last evening in separate incidents.

Police today said 45 Assam Rifles (AR) shot dead a person suspected to be a militant and destroyed a camp of People's Liberation Army at Katyang, Tamenglong district.

AR also recovered one AK 47, grenades, US carbine, rifles, radio sets and incriminating documents.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident last night at North AOC here, a suspected militant was shot dead by Imphal West police.

Police said the person was found moving in a suspicious manner and when challenged, he took out a hand grenade forcing police to shoot him.

The body was kept at the RIMS for identification.
