Two killed by militants, hideout busted in J and K
Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Two people were killed by militants while security forces busted a hideout and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including RDX in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said.
He said militants shot at and wounded one Irshad Ahmad Ahanger at Court Road, near here this afternoon. He was immediately shifted to hospital where he died.
However, people took to streets and forced the closure of shops in the area, alleging he was killed by security forces.
Militants shot dead the wife of one Ali Mohammad Matta at Sopore in Baramulla district last night.
He said security forces busted a hideout at Dhara Kalarian in Poonch district of Jammu region and recovered two kg RDX, one Universal Machine Gun with one box of ammunition, eight grenades, five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs),ten metre fuse fire, three RPG and five plastic sheets. However, no one was arrested.
