Two criminals gunned down in UP encounter

Lucknow, Feb 24 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh police have gunned down two criminals in an encounter in Azamgarh district.

Police said here today Raju Singh and another criminal were killed in an encounter in the Jiyanpur area last last night.

Raju had escaped from police custody in the recent past and was wanted in connection with several cases of robbery and murder. The other deceased was yet to be identified, police added.

A countrymade revolver and live cartridges have been recovered from the spot.
