TVS Apache hits road

Chennai, Feb 23 (UNI) ''TVS Apache,'' the newly designed 150 cc aggressive and sporty looking bike from two-wheeler major TVS Motor Company, hit the roads today.

'The TVS Apache, which has taken the two-wheeler industry by storm, will now be available at all TVS dealer outlets in the city,' a company release here said.

Ramkay agencies, the company's dealer outlet, wore a festive look as the first batch of TVS Apache bikes were rolled out. Having patiently waited for this day, a group of nine delighted youngsters, took delivery of the bikes and zoomed their way.

Mr Shankaran, Assistant General Manager (Marketing) TVS Motor, handed over the keys of the first bike to R Guatam of Chennai.

"I read about this motorbike in the papers and had a look at the literature in the Ramkay showroom. The matter was then decided. This was the only bike I would buy," said a beaming Mr Gautam.

Apache had already won excellent reviews from several two-wheeler experts and had won three "best bike of the year" by CNBC TV18, AUTOCAR India, OVERDRIVE and Business Standard Motoring, the release said.

On the design front too, Apache had won two top awards, namely the "best design of the year" by BBC TopGear and "best indigenous design of the year" by OVERDRIVE.

In a bid to woo the youngsters, TVS Motor had designed and engineered the bike with class leading performance.

"The racing inspired sleek machine charecterizes unique engine features, innovation design, international looks, advanced engineering and technical excellence offering an exhilarating combination of sporty performance and exceptional ride comfort in highways and city roads," the release added.

With the Apache, TVS is now set to redefine the 150 cc segment and aims at strengthening its position in the premium segment of the motorcyle and consolidate futher on total volumes, the release said.
