TRS members disrupt Assembly proceedings
Hyderabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members today stalled the proceedings of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly leading to adjournment of the House for a brief period by Speaker K R Suresh Reddy.
Demanding action against State Election Commissioner A V S Reddy for crossing his constitutional limits through his remarks against Telangana protagonists, TRS Floor Leader G Vijayarama Rao, joined by his colleagues, staged a noisy protest and urged the government to make a statement on the issue during the Zero Hour.
Pointing out to the TRS members that the government had made note of his demand, the Speaker said they should allow other members to raise issues of public importance.
As the TRS persisted with their demand, the Speaker said they were misusing the opportunity provided to them. ''You are losing track of the procedures,'' he said making it clear that he could not allow Zero Hour to be turned into a fulfledged debate and adjourned the House.
