Top judokas to compete in judo nationals

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Top judokas like Akram Shah, Navjot Chana and Satpal Choudhary among men and Anita Chanu, Nirupama Devi and Landhoni Devi among women will vie for top honours in the Ispat Judo National championship, which begins here on February 25.

Conducted by the Mumbai Judo Association, the nationals will see the participation of around 600 players from 29 states and six teams from Police, Paramilitary Forces, Services and Railways, Association Secretary Manohar Bangera told reportes here today.

Mr Bangera said the nationals will commence with a demonstartion by visually handicapped judo students of the Happy Home for the Blind.

He also said that this year they had been able to get Ispat Industries Ltd as the main sponsorer.
