TDP leader murdered in AP

Mahbubnagar, Feb 22 (UNI) A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader was killed near Nirven village of Kothakota Mandal early today.

Police said the TDP member Mahesh was returning on his motorcycle to his native village last night when rival group members attacked him on the outskirts of Nirven village.

Mahesh's supporters went amuck and destroyed poultry farms of the rival group today.

The police suspect one N Venkatesh and his followers to be behind the incident.

The family members of Mahesh said he had been receiving threats not to contest in the coming local body elections.
