Tamil film director joins AIADMK

Chennai, Feb 22 (UNI) Noted Tamil film director R V Udhayakumar today joined the ruling AIADMK in the presence of Party General Secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Mr Udhayakumar, who had wielded the megaphone for blockbusters like 'Chinna Gounder,' 'Yejaman' and 'Singaravelan,' called on Ms Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden Residence here and joined as a primary member of the party along with his wife Sujatha Udhayakumar.

Welcoming the couple to the partyfold, the AIADMK supremo issued the membership card to them, a party release here said.

Popular hero Murali, veteran actor Vijayakumar, comedian Senthil, actor-director Manobala, script writer Liaquat Ali Khan and producer Pazha Karuppaiah were some of the film personalities who joined the AIADMK recently.
