Stringent norms for milk exports

New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) Government today announced it has clamped down stringent regulations on export of food products including dairy products in the wake of avian flu causing alarm.

'' The Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) is being doubly careful by clamping down stringent regulations on export of food products'', the EIC said in a release here.

EIC, under the Commerce Ministry, has cautioned dairy product exporters to strictly adhere to the international norms to avoid any possible rejection of their consignments on health and safety issues.

The Council is organising programmes for awarness of the exporters. As many as 40 leading exporters of milk products from northern India attended the programme.
