SP student leader shot dead in UP

Balrampur, Feb 22 (UNI) A student leader of the ruling Samajwadi Party was shot dead in the Saryu Nahar Colony here today.

Police said here District Pressident of Samajwadi Chatra Sabha (SCS) Pawan Kumar Singh (30) was shot dead by rival group following a tiff over a government tender.

Incensed over the killing a mob set afire a car and motor cycle of a contractor suspected to be behind the killing.

Police in strength have been deployed in the area to deal with any eventuality.

An FIR has been lodged against three persons including a former student union president of M L K PG College.
