SP leader freed

Bhind, MP, Feb 22 (UNI) A SP leader, who was abducted here this morning, has been rescued, police said.

The party's Bhind district unit President Ravisen Jain had gone to SP Mahila Morcha district unit President Rubi Chouhan's home, where notorious dacoit Jagjeevan Singh Parihar gang member Sadhu Singh, carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, was present.

Meanwhile, Etawah police in plainclothes reached there without informing Bind police and took Sadhu Singh and Ravisen with them.

Local residents felt the SP leader had been abducted.

Superintendent of Police Rajababu Singh directed to seal the district borders after the abduction. Later, he spoke to his Etawah counterpart over telephone.

Etawah police released Mr Jain, who was brought here by Bhind ASP.
