Somnath undergoes tests at AIIMS, decides to stay the night

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was today hospitalised for a routine check-up following complaints of chest congestion and doctors examining him have advised him to take complete rest.

Mr Chatterjee, who was suffering from a cough for the past three days, was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he complained of congestion in the chest.

After the examination, he was taken back to his home in the afternoon. However, the Speaker was brought back to the hospital in the evening as the doctors desired further checks and he decided to stay the night there to enable all the requisite tests, his Media Advisor said.

Doctors have said the results of the tests conducted on Mr Chatterjee have been satisfactory and there is no cause for worry.

However, they have advised him to undertake complete rest.
