Situation in Kashmir has improved, police
Srinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) The overall situation in the Kashmir valley has improved considerably and people are living without any fear, a senior police official said.
Complimenting the police and security forces for their role in the Kashmir valley, the Inspector General of Police Kashmir K Rajendra Kumar said that their hard work, devotion and above all, the spirit of sacrifice has not only brought a perceptible improvement in the situation but has also earned the confidence of the people.
Speaking at Police Darbar after reviewing law and order situation at a high-level meeting at Tral in south Kashmir, the IGP said that he is satisfied that all rank performed by and large well in the given situation and that makes, Jammu and Kashmir Police an enviable police organisation in the country.
Mr Kumar expressed his confidence that the police will endeavour to improve further its public friendly image and put in their best to ensure security of the people.
The sacrifices given by the police personnel will be remembered forever, he said.
Mr Kumar impressed upon the police and security officials to carry search operations on specific information professionally and avoid collateral damages.
He said that every precaution should be taken to safeguard life and property of the people, and no harm should be done to innocent civilians.
On the occasion, some of the Police and security force officials were rewarded for their excellent performance in combating militancy in the recent past in District Pulwama.
