SC dismisses petition seeking custody of former Ms Agra
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed habeas corpus petition filed by Dr R S Choudhary seeking directions to produce his daughter in the court.
A bench comprising Mr Justice K G Balakrishnan and Mr Justice P P Naolekar dismissed the petition after former Miss Agra, Kamna Choudhary, made a statement before the court that she wanted to stay with her husband Hemant Kumar.
The apex court on February 17 sent the girl to Nirmal Niketan in Delhi for counselling as the petitioner has alleged that she was under threat and pressure from Hemant Kumar.
The court handed over the custody of Kamna to her husband after she made a statement expressing her willingness to go with her husband.
The court also took note of the fact that she was a major and free to go with her husband if she desired.
Dr Choudhary had earlier alleged his daughter had been kidnapped by Kumar in active connivance with the local police who were sheilding the culprit.
