Sadhu Yadav files anticipatory bail petition

Patna, Feb 23 (UNI) RJD MP Anirudh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav today filed an anticipatory bail petition before the special vigilance court of Patna apprehending arrest in connection with a multi crore rupees flood relief scam.

Special vigilance judge Ram Niwas Prasad fixed February 24 for hearing the petition.

Earlier, in its order on February 20, Delhi High Court had granted relief to the accused by staying the execution of warrant of arrest for four weeks issued by the special vigilance court of Patna in the case.

According to the charges, the complicity of the accused in misappropriation of public money was detected during investigation of the multi crore rupees flood relief scam by the state vigilance bureau.

The case was related to misappropriation of government funds of Rs 13 crores meant for distribution of relief materials among the flood victims of North Bihar in 2004.
