Sachkhand exp to have daily run, new Jaipur-Amritsar train
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) For the first time, Jaipur has been connected to Amritsar through a new train which will run at bi-weekly frequency, while Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Hirakund Express will be extended to Amritsar.
Similarly a new DMU will be introduced between Jalandhar City and Nakodar to facilitate commuters.
Besides, the Haridwar-Kalka-Jodhpur Express now will go up to Barmer (Rajasthan) via Bhatinda.
Sachkhand Express between Amritsar and Nanded, which is now running five days a week, will be a daily service.
A survey for new line in Punjab--Rama Mandi-Maur Mandi via Talwandi Sabo-- proposed to be taken up this year, announced Railway Minister Laloo Yadav in the Budget today.
Meanwhile, new rail link-- Chandigarh to Morinda linking Ludhiana --has been completed.
