Russia urges Iran to restore full cooperation with IAEA
Moscow, Feb 22 (UNI) Russia has urged Iran to restore cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on its nuclear programme.
"The Russian side emphasised the need for Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA through implementing the February resolution of IAEA Board of Governors with the aim to remove the remaining doubts, in relation to Iran's past nuclear activities and restore trust in its nuclear programme," Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, last night after the conclusion of Russia-Iran talks.
"The consultations involved a serious exchange of opinions on stabilising the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear programme and implementing Russia's proposal on setting up a joint venture on Russian territory to provide Iran's nuclear power plants with enriched uranium," the statement added.
Consultations on the issue will continue, it said.
