Jammu, Feb 23 (UNI) Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah today said restoration of autonomy in the state is the only solution to the Kahmir issue and lamented on the Centre's attitude to resolve the issue.
While addressing a public meeting at Kalakote today, Mr Farooq, the patron of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference said restoration of autonomy is the only possible solution to the Kashmir issue.
Mr Farooq regretted that his party is not being taken into confidence and added that no other political party has come out with a documented proposal, he added.
He emphasised the need to use water resources of the state for power generation and economic development of the state.
He also expressed concern over the state of education system in the state. ''Unlimited foundation stones have been laid and there is no infrastructure in schools,'' said Mr Abdullah.
