Report on K'taka industrial policy to be submitted in a month
Mangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) The Advisory Committee on State Industrial Policy will submit its report to the Karnataka Government on the State's new industrial policy for 2006-2011 within the next four weeks, its Chairman P P Prabhu has said.
Addressing a meeting convened to invite suggestions from industrialists to frame the policy, organised by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here last evening, he said the report should have been submitted by the month-end. The Committee, which had held meetings with industrialists in Mysore and Bangalore, would hold similar meetings in Hubli and Gulbarga, he added.
KCCI President A Srinivasa Rao, who presided over, said the new industrial policy should stress on upgradation of technology, giving impetus for creating infrastructure, marketing facilities to small industry sector, compulsory implementation of single window system, and wiping out 'Inspector Raj' and subsidy to the new small and tiny industries.
