Pak colts' performance simply outstanding: Ehsan Mani

Dubai, Feb 23 (UNI) Lauding the performance of U-19 World Cup winners Pakistan, ICC President Ehsan Mani has said the champions demonstrated strength of character which is rarely associated with young players.

''I have been in Colombo for the ICC Under-19 Final and had the privilege of watching what I consider to be one of the most remarkable matches I have ever seen,'' the ICC chief said in a letter to PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan.

Pakistan became the first side to retain the U-19 World Cup after beating India in the finals on Sunday. The champions successfully defended a paltry 109 bowling out the Indians for 71 runs.

Congratulating the team for the win, Mr Mani said, ''The young Pakistani cricketers fight back to win the match from what seemed to be a lost cause was outstanding.'' UNI XC PM YA SP1140
