Over 400 Haj flights from India this year
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) A whopping 402 flights were operated by three airlines to carry Haj pilgrims to Mecca this year, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today said.
Air India, Indian Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines Saudia flew the pilgrims to Mecca in the first phase of the pilgrimage, Mr Patel said.
Each passenger received a subsidy of around Rs 28,000 for the pilgrimage from the government, he told the Lok Sabha.
