Bhopal, Feb 24(UNI) The opposition Congress today criticised the Madhya Pradesh BJP government in the Assembly for not announcing any schemes for the youth and sports in the budget for fiscal 2006-07.

Participating in the general discussions on the budget, Mr Nishith Patel (Cong) alleged that the government totally neglected the youth by not announcing any schemes for them. 'There was no mention of sports in the budget speech by Finance Minister Raghavji'', he said.

Mr Patel also criticised the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for taking credit of several schemes started during the previous Congress regime and not acknowleding the liberal assistance provided by the UPA government.

Mr Priyabrat Singh(Cong), who resumed the discussion, suggested that a roadmap for road connectivity, particularly link roads, should be prepared for planned development of roads under the ''Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.'' The state should take effective steps for reducing transmission loss and increase the field staff for proper electricity supply, he said.

Mr Govind Singh Patel and Mr Gajraj Singh Sikarwar (both BJP) said the BJP government had achieved success in implementation of several schemes, particularly infrastructre development, as a result of proper utilisation of Central assistance. Increased allocation was made in social sector, they added.
