'National seminar on role of Urdu-Knowing women held

Hyderabad, Feb 22 (UNI) Potti Sriramulu Telugu University Vice Chancellor A Manjulata today inaugurated a two-day 'National seminar on role of Urdu knowing women in the 21st century.' Speaking on the occasion here, Dr Manjulata said women, particularly those belonging to Muslim community, were facing gender discrimination due to lack of educational, economical and political opportunities in the country.

Stating that women should be empowered to achieve overall development of society, she said they should also be given quality education to help them make use of employment opportunities.

Dr Manjulata underscored the need for translating higher education books into Urdu for facilitating Urdu-knowing women to pursue further education.
