Naga leaders have miraculous escape as flight forced to land
Kohima, Feb 23 (UNI) Passengers on a Delhi-bound Sahara Airlines flight from Guwahati, including some Congress leaders from Nagaland, had a miraculous escape yesterday after a pressure leakage on one of the doors was detected at an altitude of 30.000 feet.
According to sources here today, the aircraft with over a hundred passengers had took off from Guwahati airport and after 20 minutes in the air, unusual cabin pressure was detected.
On examination, it was found that there was a leakage on the main door of the aircraft and the pilots re-routed the flight back to Guwahati and landed there safely.
The passengers included state Congress MLA C.Apok Jamir, P.
Ayangba Aonok and Khriedi Theunuo, both vice-presidents of Pradesh Congress Committee, and a Naga women passenger, who were on their way to attend a party meeting in Delhi.
The passengers were stranded at Guwahati as the Sahara authorities could not make alternative arrangements.
