Murder accused Pilibhit district SP president removed

Lucknow, Feb 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav today removed Gopal Krishna Saxena from the post of Pilibhit district party president.

Mr Yadav -- who is also the state PWD minister -- said here his removal had already been approved by SP supremo and chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Yesterday, some miscreants had shot dead the son of Puranpur block pramukh aspirant Nirmala Pandey at the residence of Saxena in Pilibhit.

Later, five persons including him were named in the case.

The murder was stated to be fallout of political rivalry.

Investigations were on.
