Miscreants loot Rs 50 lakhs from Bank employees

Dhenkanal,Orissa, Feb 23 (UNI) Armed miscreants today looted Rs 50 lakhs from the employees of UCO Bank at gun point near Jhargadia Outpost, about 25 kms from here this afternoon.

Police said the cashier of the UCO Bank here and another employee were carrying Rs 50 lakhs to be handed over to their Dera branch when the miscreants intercepted the vehicle and looted the money at gun point.

The police said no securityman was accompanying the bank employees when such a huge amount was being transferred from one bank to another bank.

The police on being informed about the incident,rushed to the spot and sealed all the exit points.
