Mir will also not participate in round table conference

Jammu, Feb 21 (UNI) Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and MLA Ghulam Hassan Mir will also not participate in the Round Table Conference with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh scheduled for February 25 in New Delhi.

With PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, Mr Mir had also received invitation from the Prime Minister's Office to participate in the Round Table Conference and the MLA Mir had declared that he would oppose both autonomy and the self rule proposal during the talks while the PDP has been the supporter of self-rule and demilitarisation.

Talking to UNI tonight on the phone, G H Mir who is in his Srinagar residence, said, ''Due to health problem, I will not be able to go to New Delhi on February 25 to participate in the Round Table Conference with the Prime Minister.

In a major development yesterday in Srinagar, the moderate faction of the Hurriyat led by Mirwaiz Omar Farooq has rejected the Prime Minister's invitation for the Round Table Conference and decided to stay away from the conclave.
