Mercedes-Benz comes up with latest in M and S-Classes
New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) DaimlerChrysler India Ltd today unveiled its latest editions of the S-Class and M-Class Mercedes-Benz vehicles to woo the discerning Indian clientele.
The S-Class renewed model, priced at Rs 72 lakh onward,has latest safety features, which make it secure even at very high speed, Hans Multhaupt, Global Head for development of the S-Class, told reporters here.
''The new model replaces a series which had been a leader in the luxury car segment, with around 500,000 units sold all over the world,'' he added.
Launching the new M-Class, priced Rs 59 lakh upwards, Dr Bharat Balasubramanian, an IIT graduate, said the first generation of the vehicle was launched in 1997 and it won various awards the world over.
''Keeping in mind the success and demand, we have developed it further to make it more safe, comfortable and fuel efficient,'' he added.
The new M-class edition comes with a powerful engine and 7-speed automatic transmission, which gives a trouble-free driving on any kind of road.
Airmatic air suspension and the anticipated protection system ensures proper safety, he said.
Present at the release of the two new models here, Dr Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of the prestigious car making company, said that these are the world class cars with all latest features possible in their segment.
