Raipur, Feb 22 (UNI) Legislators in Chhattisgarh have again received naxalite literature and a compact disc, depicting alleged police atrocities on the tribals of Bastar.
The issue figured in the assembly on the second consecutive day today when Mr Ravindra Choubey (Congress) raised the matter saying that some unidentified persons had delivered these materials at the MLA rest house in the state capital.
''It's a serious issue,'' he said, adding the state government should make a statement in the House over the issue.
He said Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey had convened a meeting in his chamber on this issue before the House assembled for the day.
''The state government must tell us as to what steps are being taken to provide protection to the legislators,'' he said.
Mr Shiv Deharia (Congress) confirmed that naxalite literature and a CD was found at his door step of his residence at around midnight.
He also alleged that the government was not serious.
Home minister Ramvichar Netam was present in the House when the issue was raised during the Zero Hour.
