Local court sets aside summons issued against Pooja Bhatt

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Sessions Court Judge P S Paranjape today set aside a summons warrant issued against actress Pooja Bhatt and two others by a magistrate's court in a private complaint alleging obscene display on the hoarding posters of the film ''Rog''.

The issue of summons by the Bandra Magistrate court was challenged before the sessions court by Pooja and two others.

Advocate Majeed Memon argued before the court that the complaint does not contain the list of witnesses which is required under the law in an offence charged under sections 292, 293 of the IPC.

The judge, after hearing the defence, quashed the order of the magistrate's court on technical grounds.

Earlier, Pooja was issued summons in this connection but she failed to appear before the court following which a warrant was issued.

Mumbai Police had also registered a complaint against Pooja Bhatt for the same offence and the matter is pending in a local court.
