Kidnapped boy found murdered

Rajkot, Feb 23 (UNI) The teenaged son of a gynaecologist couple, who was kidnapped from Jetpur town of the district on Tuesday night, was found murdered today, police said.

The body of 14-year-old Siddharth was found on the terrace of a vacant bungalow on the Teen-bati Chowk of Jetpur town today, Rajkot Rural Police control room said.

Preliminary reports indicate that the boy was strangled to death, police said.

Meanwhile, according to the complaint lodged with the police by the boy's parents Dr Kishorebhai Lakhani and Dr Alpaben, their son had gone missing since Tuesday night.

The parents said they had received an anonymous call yesterday and the caller, while claiming that the boy was in their custody, had demanded Rs 40 lakh his release. The caller had spoken in Hindi.

The police had immediately swung into action and had traced the call from a STD-PCO booth near the clinic of the doctor parents.

Following the report of the murder of the boy, Inspector General of Police V V Rabari has rushed to Jetpur.
