Kerala beat Pondicherry in SZ basketball

Kottayam, Feb 22 (UNI) Hosts Kerala beat Pondicherry 100-62 in the opening match of the 46th South Zone National Basketball championship at the Nehru Stadium here today.

The winners led 62-34 at half time.

Malayala Manorama Chief Editor K M Mathew inaugurated the championship.

Karnataka will meet Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu will take on Sri Lanka in the men's section, while Tamil Nadu will meet Sri Lanka in the women's section tomorrow.
