House collapses after loud explosion, two women killed

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 22 (UNI) Two women were killed and a youth was injured when a house collapsed after a gas cylinder exploded, in this town early today.

Police said A Lakshmamma (65) was trying to light the gas stove for preparing tea when there was a huge explosion.

Lakshmamma died on the spot while her grandson Balakrishna (17) escaped with minor injuries.

In the impact, the neighbouring house also collapsed killing one Chennamma on the spot.

Some other houses developed cracks. Police were investigating the case and questioning two youths staying there.
