Himachal HC judge passes away

Shimla, Feb 23 (UNI) Mr Justice B M Jain of the Himachal Pradesh High Court died at Ahmedabad today following a massive heart attack.

He is survived by his wife, son and a daughter.

Justice Jain, 60, was due to retire in November 2007 and was recently transferred from Punjab and Haryana High Court to Himachal.

His body was being flown to Gurgaon where he would be cremated tomorrow, official sources said.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh informed the Vidhan Sabha about the death of Mr Jain and an obituary reference was made in the House.

Opposition leader in the House P K Dhumal also joined the Chief Minister in paying tributes to the departed soul.
