HC reserves order on CET
Chennai, Feb 24 (UNI) The Madras High Court today reserved orders for February 27 on a petition challenging the validity of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Admission in Professional Courses Act.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice A P Shah and Justice Prabha Sridevan, reserved orders after hearing elaborate arguments for three consecutive days.
In their petition, Nishanth Ramesh and other students sought to declare the Act as unconstitutional.
The law seeks to exempt higher secondary students of the state board from appearing for Common Entrance Test (CET) to get admission to professional courses.
However, non-state board students like those belonging to the Central Board of Secondary Education should take up CET.
