Haryana not to privatise ITI education: Minister
Chandigarh, Feb 22 (UNI) The Haryana Government will not privatise any Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the state, Industries, Industrial Training and vocational Training minister Lachhman Dass Arora said here today.
The Minister said that some parties with vested interests were ''misguiding'' the students about the increase in the fees and the stipend issue. ''There was no plan to either increase the fee or reduce the stipend in any of the ITIs.'' Mr Arora said all the ITIs in the state would have to modify themselves and adapt to the changing times by upgrading their facilities. He said the ITIs had not upgraded themselves since a long period. The department had launched a massive campaign for providing better and sufficient machinery, new buildings and improving the existing structures of the ITIs, he added.
The Minister said the government had involved some private companies like, Maruti Udyog Limited, Liberty Shoe Company, Jay Bharat Maruti and Sona Koyo Steering Systems Limited for facilitating in-plant training, curriculum development and generation of employment opportunities.
