Guj Assembly pays tributes to K R Narayanan

Gandhinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) The 11th Gujarat Legislative Assembly, in its Budget Session, here today paid rich tributes to late former President K R Narayanan and other personalities who died when the House was not in the session.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Narendra Modi praised late Mr Narayanan saying that the man had risen to the highest post in the country's democratic system.

Mr Modi said during his long academic and political career, late Mr Narayanan had achieved many remarkable milestones for himself and the country.

Praising the former President, Leader of Opposition Arjun Modhvadia said he was a man of very high stature and in his death the country had lost a great leader.

The House also remembered other personalities like late former Gujarat Assembly Speaker Himmatlal Mulani, erstwhile Mumbai Vidhansabha member late Khemchandbhai Somabhai Chavda, Gujarat Vidhansabha's former late members Mahendrabhai Desai, Virjibhai Bhimjibhai Dafda and Dhanjibhai Motibhai Rathod.
