Governor lauds Gujarat government's achievements

Gandhinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma, in his Budget Session address to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, today heaped praises upon Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his government's achievements.

Mr Sharma said the government's largesse to the farm sector, by providing adequate power and water, had boosted agricultural production. This apart, various government schemes like ''Rural Development Towards Self-Reliance'', ''Shramyogi Yojana'', ''e-gram Yojana'', ''Samras Gram'', ''Teerth Gram'', ''Panchavati'', ''Gram Sabha'', ''Sardar Patel Awas Yojana'' and others had paved the way for speedier rural development.

The Governor said the finding of huge natural gas and oil reserves in various oil-fields in the state have put Gujarat on the path of emerging as the Petro Capital of the nation.

He said the Gujarat government was committed to provide social and economical security to the people. Implementation of various women-oriented schemes have empowered the women in the state, he said.
