Golwalkar's birth centenary celebrations to begin tomorrow
Nagpur, Feb 23 (UNI) The celebrations of birth centenary year of second Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief M S Golwalkar (Guruji) will begin tomorrow at a function to be held at RSS headquarters, Rashimbaugh here in the presence of prominent leaders of Sangh pariwar throughout the country.
To celebrate the birth centenary, a 122-member national-level committee, 'Shri Guruji Janmashatabdi Samaroh Samiti' was constituted at a meeting held in Delhi on Januaury 18 and year-long programmes were chalked out to be held from district level to the State level throughout the country, committee secretary Bajranglal Gupta told newsmen here.
The programmes include seminars on 'Samajik samarasta', demographic imbalances, organic farming, cattle-based decentralised self-reliant economic, swadeshi in the context to the danger of economic imperialism of multinationals, threat to national security, cultural invasion, promoting and enhancing and safeguarding Indian culture, he said.
Besides, sports competitions, human chain, samarasta run, blood donation camps, eye donation campaigns and health camps would be held at various places in the country, he said.
Mr Gupta said the central theme of the programmes would be ''samajik samarasta (social harmony).'' The concluding ceremony would be held at Delhi in February next year, he added.
