Gillette Q3 net profit doubles to Rs 14.95 crore

Mumbai, Feb 24 (UNI) Gillette India has posted a net profit after provision for tax of Rs 14.95 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, up by 119 per cent, compared to Rs 6.83 crore for the corresponding quarter the previous year.

Announcing this to BSE, the Company said its total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 121.15 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, from Rs 104.22 crore for the corresponding period previous year.

It has posted net profit after provision for tax of Rs 68.72 crore for the year ended December 31, 2005, up 12.3 per cent, compared to Rs 61.22 crore for the year ended December 31, 2004.

Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 425.19 crore for the year ended December 31, 2004, to Rs 470.96 crore for the year ended December 31, 2005.

The Board has recommended a dividend Rs 10 per share. It was Rs 8.50 per share in 2004.
