Srinagar, Feb 23 (UNI) Breakaway Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today called a two-day general strike in the entire Jammu and Kashmir in protest against the killing of four young boys allegedly by the security forces at Dodipora in Handwara yesterday.

Mr Geelani, who has been put under house arrest since 2100 hrs last night, has urged the people to observe a complete shutdown in the entire state tomorrow and Saturday to show solidarity with the families of the killed youth.

Addressing an emergency news conference here, he also called for peaceful demonstrations across the state on these two days.

The firebrand leader said the authorities had deliberately prevented him from visiting Dodipora to offer ''Namaza Jinazah (last prayers)'' to the killed youth and described his arrest as ''undemocratic and inhuman'' acts.

These acts need to be condemned in the strongest terms, he added.

Mr Geelani said a delegation of his Hurriyat Conference was also not allowed by the authorities to proceed to Handwara to offer condolences to the families of the youth and were detained at the Parimpora police station on the city outskirts.
