Fresh judicial inquiry into Bhagalpur riot ordered

Patna, Feb 24 (UNI) The Bihar Government today decided to order fresh judicial inquiry into infamous Bhagalpur riot of 1989.

Briefing newspersons here, Cabinet Coordination Secretary Sashi Sekhar Sharma said the state Cabinet gave its nod to the proposal in this regard, paving the way for reopening the issue.

Mr Sharma said Patna High Court Chief Justice J.N.Bhatt had been requested to recommend the name of a judge to head the one-man judicial inquiry commission.
