Free Siva pocket books distribution to pilgrims: TTD

Tirupati, Feb 23 (UNI) In view of Mahashivaratri on February 26, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to distribute at least five lakh pocket books of ''Sivanama Stotram'' and ''Siva Stuti'' free to the visiting devotees at all Siva temples and other temples under the purview of TTD.

Local temples deputy executive officer K Chitha Ranjan had been entrusted the task of distributing pocket books to all devotees who visited Lord Siva temples and other temples under the TTD, its joint Executive officer N Muktheswar Rao told UNI here yesterday.

Regarding ''TTD Pustaka Prasadam'' concept, which had received a good response, it was proposed to develop it like annadanam scheme on a regular basis, he said.

Some pocket books were also being sent to Srikalahasti where 13-day Mahashivaratri utsavams began on February 21.

Elaborate arrangments have been made to meet the needs of pilgrims visiting Kapila Teertham on Mahashivaratri, he added.
