Ex-NCM chief's son charged with conducting sex determination tests
New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has suspended the registration of a clinic run by the son of former National Commission for Minorities Chairperson Tarlochan Singh on suspicion that pre-natal sex determination tests were being conducted there.
The ultrasound machines of the Kohli Imaging and Diagnostics Centre, 70 Mount Kailash, East of Kailash, belonging to Dr Pawandeep Singh Kohli were sealed in a search and seizure operation conducted by health authorities last Saturday, official sources said.
The action followed suspicion that sex determination tests were being conducted in the clinic, they said.
The former NCM chief, who has campaigned against sex determination tests in the past, refused comments on the step.
