''Dhamma Jyot'' leaves for Dhansari
Nagpur, Feb 22 (UNI) A ''Dhamma Jyot (torch)'' today left here for Dhansari in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of former Maharashtra Government secretary Munsilal Gautam (IAS) to mark the beginning of the golden jubilee celebrations of ''Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din''.
Dr Gautam, along with prominent Buddhist monks, assembled at the Deeksha Bhoomi where Dr B R Ambedkar had embraced Buddhism on October 14, 1956, and left for Dhansari with the torch by Andhra Pradesh Express this afternoon.
On February 25, the ''Dhamma Jyot'' will reach Dhansari via Agra where about 50,000 people would embrace Buddhism at a function, Dr Gautam said before the departure On way to Dhansari, the ''Dhamma Jyot'' will be welcomed by people at various places, he added.
